What are some disturbing implications arising from toys being alive in the Toy Story universe?

Asked by ragingloli (51971points) October 13th, 2019

For example, sex dolls. What are they like, when they become alive when no one is around? Complete sluts, or broken sexual abuse victims?
What other examples can you think of?

Are adult toys the same as kid’s toys?

My guess is those expensive sex dolls at 5K which features are made to order based on the buyer’s personal preferences would also possess the same character the buyer wants them to have.

I wonder where the quickening occurs. A woman buys an electric toothbrush, and uses it normally for two years, then uses it once as a vibrator. When does it become ensouled, or reanimated?

@ragingloli I am not familiar with sex toys, but are they all female, there to serve a male?

I’m delighted that @ragingloli went right for blow-up dolls.

When I saw “Toy Story,” I thought about how children’s toys usually get treated—ripped and torn, crumpled underfoot, left outside in all sorts of weather, stored in dark bins and closets, and eventually discarded. Wouldn’t that all be a bit rough for a sentient being?

@raum I just think of all those poor Gi Joes I blew up as a kid with firecrackers…the horror.
