What unfortunate incidents have you experienced involving aggressive drivers?

Be that behind the wheel, cycling, or maybe as a pedestrian.
Thank you please!

My only experience came just this past week & it went something like this.
As some of you know, I’m a keen runner & am always vigilant & courteous when crossing roads while out & about.

Well, that’s apparently not enough to keep the elite class dipshits at bay :D
So, as I say, one fine day last week I was on one of my cool down recovery runs, 5k round route circling my neighbourhood. The incident occurred as I crossed a side road, traffic coming from behind wanting to turn left at this point are encouraged to slow down as it comes at the brow of a very steep hill & cars are always parked up there leaving them blindsided on two counts.

Anyway, this idiot sped round as I was half way over having checked over my shoulder it was safe to do so, he blasted his horn, rolled his window down & yelled I hope you die when you’re out running!”

I gave him a long, sarcastic grin & went on my merry way…what a fucking clown though!

He’ll probably die sooner, being an obvious stress sufferer.

Some months ago I crossed a busy street, walking.
It’s a rather new street with cars, trams, busses, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Since it’s new, and also many already have expressed their unhappiness with how they designed the whole thing (all in all its about 50–60 meters wide), I was very, very cautious when I was crossing each section (it’s a bit like Frogger).
The last section was the cyclists lane. Looking left, looking, right, left again.
I thought it safe, but I was wrong.
A speed cyclist, in full lycra, almost raced into me.
I got a huge scare, and expected a hearty apology.
But nope, he called me a fucking asshole.
With hateful eyes directed at me.
I laughed from shock, and from flabbergastisation at such evil.

It was the final episode of Seinfeld. There was a big watching party at Katie’s house. There ended up being around 50 people there. I wrangled up a person to cover so I could leave work early. Bingo. Joe came in a 4pm to cover me and I rode my bike home.

Normal bike ride home. Until 7th and Blair. There used to be a building 20 years ago where that parking lot is.

I was going slow on my bike and a lady pulled out of the Astro and nailed me. She was going pretty fast and I flipped up onto her windshield. I had enough time to look at her. And to see the look on her face when she realized I was on her windshield. Then I had enough time to see the panic in her face and thought “she is going to slam on the brakes”.... She did slam on the brakes flinging me into oncoming traffic.

She was wearing headphones so she didn’t hear me landing on her car.

I was a avid skateboarder at the time and didn’t think I was hurt that bad. I had worse falls. So I just grabbed my bike and walked home. My from rim was bent.

I was wrong. My back was really messed up and I had to Advil through that for a few months.

I did make it to see Seinfeld. Considering everything I should have just stayed at work.

Driving on the Interstate on a Sunday afternoon crowded because it was ski season in New England. This guy was TLC’ing (Three Lane Changes). He came by me on the right in heavy traffic and promptly cut in front of me and went in left hand lane (I was in the center of three lanes). Four miles later I come up on an accident with six cars, guess who was in the middle of it. TLC

I rode my bike into a rose bush. That was memorable even though it happened a long time ago. lol
I got hit by a bicycle while walking a few years ago.
She ran into me, I turned around, she backed up a bit then continued on her way, remaining completely silent.
It was bizarre and kind of funny at the same time.
Another time, I was hit by a car. My friend was behind the wheel. She let me out , I walked in front and she lurched forward and hit me. I flew a few feet and skidded on the gravel.
I hit an ice “ramp” with a snowmobile and launched myself into the air before landing on my shoulder. That one hurt a bit. It did feel like I was flying though—almost worth it—
I have been in a few car accidents, one of which is the cause of a smashed disc in my neck.
The mother of them all is a car I was in that was hit by a train. No one was hurt but i was dressed as a martian which might have made it difficult to ID the body.
I haven’t seen the other three people involved in years but I know that they will never forget that.

I was on my way to a restaurant for a Christmas lunch for my office. A co-worker was riding with me. I had to stop for gas and was walking towards the store to pay. The car at the pumps in front of me realized he was on the wrong side to pump gas in his car and backed up really fast to get to the pumps across the way. He hit me and I flew up in the air. My co-worker was standing outside my car and was able to grab me before I hit the pavement. The passenger got out of the car eating a piece of pecan pie on a real plate, not a paper plate. He looks at me and says “oh she’s good, no blood.” So weird. I had just came back to work from having a hysterectomy. It really hurt, but I wanted to be cool so I acted like I was okay.

Cheers guys, appreciate you coming forward like this.

I was knocked over by drunk drivers mounting the pavement, but I don’t consider that as aggressive, no, they were fucking dangerous, irresponsible arseholes!

This prick last week was fully aware & sober making him not only aggressive, but way more dangerous in my book.

Anyway, if I ever see him again he’s getting a wave, may even blow him a big soppy kiss!

Drunk drivers, people drop-stopping in front of you, and every once in awhile someone gets frisky on backroads.

Just to balance things out, the vast majority of drivers I come across while running are impeccably polite, most give way even where there’s no need to.
I get so many beeping to attract my attention & throwing a wave or a smile, I have no idea who some of them are lol but they obviously got used to seeing me slogging away.
Being courteous & just plain friendly costs nowt & that’s just the way it should be!
