Is there a good genealogy software that is compatible with Mac and ancestry.com?

Asked by mamasu (1380points) September 1st, 2008

I have really been bitten by the bug. I’m getting a lot of info on ancestry.com that is working well with info I have at hand. I would just rather have something to work with that isn’t dependent upon being online.

I use Family Tree Maker, but on a PC. Great program! It used to be available for MACs. I don’t think so now, though. Hope I am wrong because it really is the best genealogy program out there.

I’ve read great things about Family Tree Maker. I just haven’t been able to find it for Mac. I guess I could do it all on PC, but I love my Mac. Thanks AstroChuck. It’s good to know that it’s a great program if I decide to go that route.
