Do you think Trump will secretly be happy if the Democrats win in the run-off elections in Georgia?

Asked by JLeslie (65424points) January 5th, 2021

I have this theory that Trump hopes the Democrats win so he can say he lost because Georgia is now turning Democrat and it isn’t his fault. A way to save face. Trump losing while Republicans win seats in congress is a rejection of Trump more than a rejection of the party.

What do you think?

No, I think he wants to win at all costs.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

Yes. I think that is probable that Trump is a Democratic mole trying to make the Republican party look bad.

Or… At the least trying to make Democrats and all Americans take more interest in politics.

JLeslie's avatar

@chyna I think that too. I was talking about him losing and the Republican senators winning.

I would think so, honestly. After the last four plus years, I’d go play some golf and live it up, forget this ever happened.

If this were true, why would Trump hold such a massive and inspiring rally in Dalton, GA?

He has a lot of other things on his plate, like whatever he is going to present on Wed.

I have no interest in trying to get inside Trump’s mind. Frankly, I’m hoping to get him out of mine!

Win or lose trump uses it to benefit himself. That is what vain sociopathic egomaniacs do.

If the Reps lose they were cheated. If they win it was because he rallied the voters.

All this douchebag wants is attention, praise, money and getting back at his haters.

He is a very simple sorry excuse for a man. He tries things and when he gets support he simply continues…doubling down to quadrupling down.

He’s got immoral and political scumbag Republican politicians playing along with him…and all sorts of deplorable voters. Not all but a LOT.

Yellowdog's avatar

Wow. You are saying Trump is the aggressor here.

You can’t bash someone 25/7 and say that they are the one causing the problem.

mazingerz88's avatar

Trump tweets 26/7. The cruel old sociopath is a relentless basher. It’s why you love him.

JLeslie's avatar

@Yellowdog I think I’m talking more about Trump using rationalization to make himself feel better.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

I think trump is hoping to go to a foreign country that will let him in.

Right now Hell has openings !

Yellowdog's avatar

@JLeslie Don’t you think he’d rather see his legacy and accomplishments carried out and preserved?

gondwanalon's avatar

Trump loves the USA. That’s why he wants Republican candidates Purdue and Loeffler to win.

I don’t think that either will win. I don’t trust any elections anymore.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

@Yellowdog his legacy is in the toilet !

But Putin freaking loves him !

Yellowdog's avatar

@gondwanalon Yes, unless something happens tomorrow, I think we HAVE lost our election system in this country. Elections will never count.

In spite of the rampart media blitz I am surprised that so many think this is okay and we should tolerate the rigging.

If the Democrats control the House and Senate, this country will be open to terrorists and illegal imigrants who will have free unrestricted access again. the police will be ‘defunded’ and we will rapidly descend into socialism during a time we need a strong economic leader to get us out of the aftermath of Covid.

Can you imagine someone like Biden or Harris at the helm as we descend into the coming morass? The time has arrived.

The U.S. will be in the toilet. It will be Hell.

chyna's avatar

@Yellowdog THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF VOTE RIGGING! ARE YOU FREAKING DEAF?

Tropical_Willie's avatar

Think he is deaf and DELUDED !

JLeslie's avatar

Really? I think the Republicans are more likely to win, but it will be close. It sounds like there was another massive get out the vote for Democrats in Georgia, but I think there are plenty of Republicans and independents who didn’t like Trump who will feel better about voting Republican now that they know Biden won.

I don’t see how people can be so untrusting of the vote, the Republican supervisor of Elections has gone point by point through the accusations of voter fraud or tampering.

As far as the Trump rally, I was watching Fox for ten minutes when that QAnon woman who won office got on stage and Fox cut away from her. I think even Fox knows the crazy Q will hurt the party in the end.

I think it’s just a game to Trump. He’s just setting things up to make money after he’s out. Trying to anyway.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Talk about election rigging @Yellowdog care to explain the phone call your hero had with the AG of Georgia about 11780 votes?

chyna's avatar

@SQUEEKY2 And don’t forget his threats to his VP Pence.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Yeah but our fright winger will probably never answer this ,or just blame it on the democrats like it was Biden who called the AG instead of Trump.

Pandora's avatar

Probable if he were a sane person. I think it will still anger him because he will convince himself that it’s proof that the prior election was stolen from him.

mazingerz88's avatar

Equally troubling. The sane people pretending to be insane because it energizes people and harnesses support and the insane people.

Together these two groups could form into the most dangerous political party.

The only option is to defeat them in elections. Overwhelmingly as much as possible. But honest elections or dishonest elections…well, probably wouldn’t matter. Lol

By the looks of it right now the dangerous alliance between insane and sane pretending to be insane people would insist they got cheated anyway whenever they lose.

jca2's avatar

I can’t wait for ½1 when we are no longer hostage to this person and his whims and his lunacy.

JLeslie's avatar

@Pandora I don’t think Trump thinks the election was stolen, that’s what his extremist followers think and he uses it for himself. I know people who voted for Trump who accept the election results thankfully, but they seem few and far between.

Trump, wants Georgia to find votes for him. In my opinion that means he knows the election is valid.

The Republicans will likely be introducing bills right away to suppress the minority vote even worse than they have been in the past. Hopefully, there will be republicans who are energized by what has happened to be on the side of voting rights for all.
