Are we still going to get Covid-relief stimulus money?

Asked by Yellowdog (12216points) February 24th, 2021

This is not a political question.

I’m just wondering if its still coming because although I hear a lot about the big bill that will fund a lot of private and extraneous interests, I am wondering if I can count on the remaining $1,400 that we were told we would receive last fall.

My reason for asking is financial.

The $1400 is still in the bill, though it obviously hasn’t been passed yet. The income thresholds have not been finalized, but I imagine that anyone who is asking for financial reasons is likely to qualify.

Most likely, the income thresholds will stay the same as in the previous bill, meaning that full checks will go to individuals making $75,000 or less and married couples making $150,000 or less. Individuals or couples who make above the threshold will get smaller checks, most likely with an upper limit of $100,000 for individuals and $200,000 for married couples.

Of course, nothing is certain until the bill has been finalized, passed, and signed.

Yes, I will. You should, too, if you make less than $75,000 per year.
