Did you ever own a vehicle in which you would love to have a mint-condition 'Like New' one today?

I often wonder why auto manufacturers mess around with perfection. Because every now and then, we find the perfect car—only to have it wear out in about ten years to where maintenance becomes more expensive than just getting a new car altogether.

Maybe we can find something else that is perfection. But I’d really like to have a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (My family bought a new one the summer I was twelve) or a 1993 teal Toyota Corolla (the first new car I ever owned that didn’t look, feel, or ride like a piece of economy junk)—if in mint condition or like new.

Why can’t these great cars from our past still be manufactured and available to us?

Several, actually.
A 1956 Pontiac 2-door with a three on the tree. The heater core being under the driver’s seat was the best!
A 1968 Ford Mustang with a 289.
A 1966 Pontiac Catalina, 2-door. What a boat!

Yes. I particularly like:
Thunderbirds 1964–65 (also 1955–1960)
Aston Martin DB5 – DB6 (1964–1971)
BMW e30 (1982–1994)

And yes, I’d want newly built ones and new spare parts, not dealing with falling apart ones.

I had a 55 Chevy from 1978 until 2015 (I paid $2,500 for it). It ran well but needed a paint job. I added up the cost of making it the way I wanted it and it was over $20K. Just for a mediocre paint job they wanted $10K.

I found another 55 Chevy set up the way I wanted for $25K. So I bought it and sold my first 55 Chevy for $8k.

I loved my 1993 Geo Metro in Polynesian Green. I got in a wreck and it was totaled. I would love to have it again.

Also my first car was a 69 yellow VW bug. I would love to have one in mint condition.

But I have to shout out love to my current car, a 2008 PT Cruiser. I had wanted one since I first saw one. It’s still in good shape, but I’d take it in it’s original condition.
