Have you ever tried scrambled French toast?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24473points) October 17th, 2023

It is just like normal French toast, except you rip the bread to bite sized pieces and dip in the uncooked eggs. Then cook on a skillet while stirring.
I added a pinch of cayenne pepper or whatever had a kick to it

Sounds like food for a child and a waste of the eggs.

A modern Latinx version is chilaquiles, which is fried tortilla chips simmered in a chili sauce and mixed with beans, avocado, and cheese with a couple of eggs on top.

We used to make a French Toast Casserole, which we prepped the night before, to be put in the oven to bake after storing it in the refrigerator.. Vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg for seasonings; not cayenne.

We would make it for family gatherings in a 9 by 13 inch casserole.

I love French Toast Casserole!

Sounds like a lot of extra work dipping individual pieces. Hope you enjoyed it, bet it was fun to try!

@KNOWITALL I loved it. I was unemployed, and the food budget for breakfast was one slice of toast, and two eggs.

I’m sure I have not.

I do it sometimes when I only have a small pan.

Sounds a lot easier than cooking the slices individually. I might try it next time.
