Personally, it wouldn’t be a favorite food if I couldn’t eat it. It might be something I like, but not a favorite.

@smudges Ok. Then a previous food that you liked, and can’t eat now.

Like McDonald’s, Pop Tarts, sugar laden cereal. ...

I think I can more or less eat all foods that I like.

Though many I should eat only in moderation, probably.

If there were no consequences to be concerned with, I might eat rather more of:
milkshakes
rootbeer floats
ice cream sundaes
cheese puffs
barbecue potato chips
pastries
baked goods
pizza
pasta
hamburgers
onion rings
bacon
sausages
cheeses
marshmallows
popsicles

Pretty much everything animal is bad for me. Clogging my arteries and shortening my life.

Can’t stand cilantro.
Also I can’t handle ice cream.

I love bread but I can’t really eat it because gluten causes me to have GI problems.

I have no allergies, so I can eat anything I want to. Many things I should only eat in moderation – like sweets and fats.

I ate ha;f a grapefruit every day from the time I was 24 until I was 62. And now I can’t eat it because I aim on statins and other meds.

smudges's avatar

@zenvelo I’m on statins and other meds also and was wondering, do you think it’s ok to have half a grapefruit once a month or so? I’m thinking it only affects the meds if you have it daily.

Until I dealt with my acid reflux, I couldn’t eat bananas or oatmeal. I love both of them and am happy to have them back.

My husband is on cholesterol meds and can’t eat grapefruit. He misses it terribly.

@tedibear Some of the statins supposedly grapefruit is ok. Are you sure he’s on one that it’s a problem?

zenvelo's avatar

@smudges I was told “no.” But I am on 7 different daily meds, some twice a day, for cholesterol,, high blood pressure, and heart failure.

As always, on Fluther – “Check with your doctor..” I would love to eat one grapefruit every month.

^^ Yeah, I’m on 8 myself and I’m pretty sure a couple of them say no grapefruit. I’ll ask the docs, but I wanted your personal thoughts. Thanks!

I have probs with lactose, but that can be attenuated with pills. Also probs if I eat a significant amount of food that contains sodium nitrate.
