Email to SMS provider?

Asked by BronxLens (1539points) September 29th, 2008

My provider of ‘email-to-SMS-text’ went down. Any others out there available for free?

Well, in the U.S. there’s the old-fashioned way still works, which requires you to know the recipient’s carrier:

AT&T: phonenumber [at] mmode [dot] com
T-Mobile: phonenumber [at] tmomail [dot] net
Virgin Mobile: phonenumber [at] vmobl [dot] com
Cingular: phonenumber [at] cingularme [dot] com
Sprint: phonenumber [at] messaging [dot] sprintpcs [dot] com
Verizon: phonenumber [at] vtext [dot] com
Nextel: phonenumber [at] messaging [dot] nextel [dot] com

where phonenumber = your 10 digit phone number

Actually, just found a site that will provide a more comprehensive listing by country/carrier… so it’s way more complete.
