How do you fix a gash on a linoleum floor?

Asked by simone54 (7629points) October 6th, 2008

I was moving some furniture around today. I put a couch in the kitchen to get it out of the way so I could shampoo the carpets. I guess I set it down to hard. I put a big gash in the linoleum on the kitchen floor. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Just replace the specific tile, if you have a tiled floor. Otherwise, you are going to have to replace the entire flooring, I would imagine.

I don’t know of any magic cream you could put on it to fix it. But if you have some spare linoleum that is the same and a steady hand you can replace that one bad section with decent results. I have done it a few times and it worked. It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t obvious what had been done.
