It seems a little early for generalizations about the membership since today is your first day.

There is a very broad spectrum of folks that are a part of Fluther. I am not convinced statistics support those things you mentioned. They are, at best, anecdotal. Still, if they were all true, so what?

I second you, Marina. I disagree w/ a lot of the generalizations made above, although I realize I’m in the minority….

but on the other hand, I’ve noticed the same tendencies…

I don’t think I am good w/ these demographics. I think we should leave it up to the “lurkers” to alert us of the stereotypes we fit into ;)

@Undici: This is statistically a liberal site. I am not so liberal, and that is why I love it so much. I get to argue my points with people who many times feel the exact opposite of me. It’s a way for me to break from my typical day with conservative friends and their viewpoints. People on this site “in general” are very respectful with their arguments. I believe this to be a better description of the people on fluther rather than indescriptive ideologies.

—like movies
—own a computer

flutherers also:

-live in a country (one of them, you know)
-know how to use computers
-have internet access
-have read a book, or at least have looked at them
-have nothing but negative things to say about stereotypes
