Can I get charged for this?

Asked by Shake (28points) November 1st, 2008 from iPhone

Well recently I got my new iPhone adapter from the Apple Store. The thing is before I got it I also registered for one online. After many days of my mailbox empty I decided why not just get one at the Apple Store. I’ll have two. So I did. I exchanged my old adapter for a shiny new one. The next day I come home and find an iPhone adapter in my mailbox. Great I have two. I thought maybe I could sell one.

2 Weeks later I actually read the paper in the iPhone adapter package saying if the older adapter isn’t returned by five buisness days Apple has the right to charge my credit card. The thing is I never provided my credit card information. Can I still get charged?

They do have your credit card info – your Apple ID is tied to your credit card info in iTunes.

I don’t have a credit card with my iTunes account. Also my Apple ID isn’t tied to my iTunes account. My email or anything isn’t the same. I used a different email

There’s no way they would’ve sent you a product without some means of charging you for it. Have you tried contacting Apple?

No. I havnt contacted Apple. Well I was supposed to return my previous adapter and the new one would be free of charge. I didn’t return my old one because it’s at an Apple Store right now were I exchanged it for a new adapter.

I would just wait it out. They might not charge you at all. Only use one, so you can return the other if they do try to charge you, and talk them out of making you pay anything.

Alright I’ll just wait and see. Thank you guys.

Wait, isn’t your account information (credit card, address) linked to your serial number when you signed up for an iPhone at AT&T?
