Record collectors, what are the gems of your collection?

Asked by forestGeek (9310points) November 20th, 2008

Not necessarily the records that are worth most, but the ones you cherish and could never part with.

I’m not a collector but I have the Joshua Tree LP and The Queen is Dead LP. I once had some OG 45s of a few Elvis songs that once belonged to my mother, but they were misplaced during one of my many, many moves.

Van Halen’s debut LP hand signed by all of the original members. I wouldn’t sell it for anything.

Okay, maybe a lot of money.

Some Girls by The Rolling Stones with all the original faces. I sold it a couple of years ago and I still wish I hadn’t.

i’m relatively new at it, but i am absolutely lovingly attached to my Gentleman’s Pact limited edition by Conor Oberst. unfortunately, he’s a bit of an asocial jerk, so i did not achieve my dream of getting it signed, but it’s okay.
i’ve got a few old records my mum gave me, and though i’m not feeling most of the records she had, i really love them just for what they are.
also i have to admit, i bought the overpriced Pretty.Odd. special edition vinyl Panic! put out, and i do not regret it.
