My wife and I alternate years, she likes an artificial tree for the ease and lack of mess, I like a real tree for the smell, the tradition, and because I was allergic as a child and could not have one.

real. I just love the smell and it’s a tradition to go out and cut our tree. It is harder to clean, though.

Fake, I have a tiny two-foot tree and a set of teeny ornaments and lights to go with it. My partner is not a big fan of Christmas so I try to keep it unobtrusive.

Pre lit/fake. The ease of not having to put up the lights is the main reason, and it is also cost effective.

real! nothing beats going out with my family to find a tree, bringing it home, setting it up, and then putting all the ornaments on. it’s just tradition. fake trees just don’t feel right at all, as simple as they make things.
plus, who doesn’t love that delicious pine smell? all the pine scented bath & body candles could not compare to the real thing.

I like all things real. Especially my Christmas tree.

Real. We love going and picking out our tree together on the day after Thanksgiving. We have done this every year that we have been married. The day is filled with Christmas carols, decorating the tree, having a big dinner and spending time together.

Oooh, real for me – some of my happiest memories are of going out with my family to pick out the tree, dragging it into the house and up the stairs (we lived on the second floor), and getting pine needles everywhere. Putting the lights on the tree is one of my favorite parts of decorating, too – and nothing beats the real pine tree smell!

My husband’s family always used artificial ones, but I’m slowly getting him into the real tree traditions too – he gets more and more excited about it every year! =)

I grew up with a fake tree (which wasn’t that bad since it was huge), but I love having a small real tree in our house.

I love getting a real Christmas tree every year. It reminds me of when I was a child. I love the smell. Helping dad wrap the lights around the tree, even though it took forever, it was time we could spend together. I even love vaccuuming up all the needles on the floor.( I know you aren’t supposed to suck them up, but it sounds cool!)

We put lights on a small (volunteer Redwood) tree in the yard…

Rather festive….

Depends on the mood! For the last few years, it’s been an artificial tree; however, we do get several real wreaths. I love the smell!

I am a big fan of real trees, and never had a fake one until 4 years ago. Space is the issue, so we have a small, skinny artificial one now, that we put on top of our buffet.

14 feet tall and real. I love the smell and it’s just what I’ve always known. My DH complains endlessly about it up, putting on the lights and taking it down. The funny thing is, I keep offering to get a big, artificial, pre-lit one…and he always says “no, it’s fine” he secretly loves it, too, that and he knows the kids would mutiny if we went fake!
