Well what do you love doing? That’s a good place to start. There’s no point asking other people if they love their jobs, cause it may not be something you would love at all.

I’m thinking of going back to school to be an auto mechanic. Which is funny since I’m 31 and have never had my license. I have a degree in economics. I like to study econ it but I hated having a job that required using it.

I love fixing stuff and woodworking. That is what I want to do.

I would just continue taking general classes to broaden your experiences. You might stumble into something you love.

Or you could drop out of school and get a job. And maybe after a few years you will find what you like.

edit :: Dropping out was a bad choice of words on my part. There is nothing wrong with taking some time off from school and trying other things. I took multiple terms off multiple times and still finished.

if you have the inclination, you may want to check out careers that would be useful in the shift towards reuseable energy and/or a greener lifestyle. Seems to me that area will be opening up in a big way in the next ten to fifteen years.

Choose the subject you’re passionate about and have an aptitude for. Unless you’re looking to get in to a highly specialised field (science, medicine, etc.), you can find a way to apply what you’ve studied for in your industry of choice, like being an accountant for a record company or communications consultant for engineering/construction companies….there’s no company/industry that requires just one type of education – it’s all mixed.

I love being a nurse. I work in an ICU, where I think alot, move alot. I care for the sickest of the sick and their families. It is a ministry.
It is hard work and not for everyone. It is a 24 hour a day job, weekends/ holidays.
But, there will always be a need for nurses, and very diverse ways to use a nursing education. Nursing is a deeply satisfying vocation.

Take the opportunity while you’re in college to grow your mind. Open yourself up to new ideas. Make connections that you may not have a chance to later in life. Take classes that interest you. Let them lead you to new discoveries about the world and about yourself. When your mind becomes awakened, it will lead you to a career path that is rewarding.

OMG, I have a friend that loves his history major so hard, so you should definitely switch over to history!!!!!!!!!

I have to second the reusable energy thing. Getting to work in on the new technologies could not only be lucrative, but will help the world (a rare combination).

I was brought up to think of college as a place to become well-rounded, not narrowly focussed. Liberal arts is where it’s at! Grad school is for when you know what you want to do.

Haha, I’m both an arts major and a science major. **taps fingertips together evilly**
