Spinach Dip. Buy the Knorr Vegetable Spice Mix and follow the direction on back for the Spinach dip. Easy and really delicious!

I add garlic to it, and make it vegan using Vegenaise.

good because my mom is ½ vegetarian

Thin-sliced grilled sourdough baguette with créme fraiche and cured alder-smoked salmon

it seems a bit too fancy and complicated….but I’ll take a look

Only for those who love cooking. Otherwise, grab a Kaukana port wine cheese log and a box of mixed crackers.

Fresh Ravioli any flavor, dip in buttermilk then roll in Italian bread crumbs, fry in preffered oil till golden brown and serve with marinara to dip in. Yum.

seems interesting saying that i like ravioli…but my mom doesn’t like frying in oil…any substitutes?

Spray with a little pam and bake in the oven at 325. Make sure to turn them so both sides get crispy.

May I ask what kind of party the appetizers would be for?

buffalo shrimp. if shrimp isn’t that much. you just bread the shrimp and put it in homemade buffalo sauce. it is so good. you can find an easy recipe for it on the internet.

How about a hummus plate with triangles of warm pita, sliced roma tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, kalamata olives, and some cheese like feta arranged around the hummus clump.

Well whatever kind of party, there’s a great Greek pasta salad that’s basically made of whatever type of pasta you like, cherry/grape tomatoes, black olives, olive oil, Feta cheese, and a few seasonings. It’s great served on crackers. You can find a more specific recipe through Google.

If you’re looking for something easy, a great 70’s style appetizer that people are surprised and happy to see are meatballs (buy them by the bagful; they’re fully cooked and frozen) in a sauce of 1 part cranberry sauce and 1 part BBQ sauce. In other words, empty a can of whole cranberry sauce into your little crockpot and fill the can up with your favorite prepared BBQ sauce. Mix them together well and add the meatballs. Heat until bubbly and hand everyone a toothpick.

It’s not fancy or gourmet, but everyone finds them addicting and they take about 5 minutes to prepare.Supplement with a fruit and cheese platter and sliced baguettes.

Fried alligator tail. I’m not kidding! Just put out some cocktail sauce with it. Try this recipe.

Vegetable pizza. It’s not really pizza but cresent roll dough baked like a pizza crust with cream cheese mixed with a ranch dressing packet and topped with shredded cheese, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and green onions all chopped up and refrigerated overnight. It is so good.

Shrimp Puffs
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter, softened
1 can (4 ½ oz.) deveined shrimp, drained
dash garlic powder
dash pepper
1 package party rolls (I use Sara Lee)

Beat cream cheese and butter together until blended. Mix in drained shrimp. Split each roll in half and spread with mixture. Bake open faced at 325 degress for 20 minutes.

The Sara Lee rolls come in a small foil tray, and are about the size of a silver dollar. They’re flat and flaky. The Sara Lee rolls can be split as a whole sheet and then separated into individual portions after baked. This makes spreading the shrimp mixture much easier.

Go to Costco if there’s one nearby and find a big French cheese that’s square instead of round but tastes like a very fresh, mild Brie. Costs almost nothing. Get some white water crackers. Don’t spoil this good cheese by putting sweet gick on it. Leave it the hell alone. Very nice.
