@ perchik Love all those songs. I didn’t put them on my playlist because it is suppose to be my “top 100 90s songs”. But One week is on there is it? I don’t know because that song annoys me but I still like it. Maybe I should just put every 90ssong. I have 200 song limit though. Don’t you think Gavin Rossdale sounds like Nirvana?

@ chutterhandan
I need a whole list of songs. I said that in my description.

there are various reasons why these songs are not on my playlist.
1) this playlist is suppose to be my “topp 100 songs”
2) I just started this playlist a while ago (you can see that there is only 99 songs)
3) I really only put my favorite of each artist (except TLC)
Now I think Imma just put everything on it.

On my playlist [that you folks mentioned]:

push (#42)
wonderwall (#34)
arrester development [tennesse though] (#8)
George Michael [freedom] (#93)
Lenny Kravitz [are you gonna go my way] (#72)
under the bridge (#11)
December (#41)
One (#3)
Ironic (#60)
california love (#80) [apparently I downloaded only the music be acciedent—it has a good beat, thouh]
jewel [you were meant for me] (#81)
one of us (#79)
gangsta’s paradise (#38) where’d it go? [music only again :[ ]
no doubt [don’t speak] (#24)
bitch (#71)
semi-charmed life (#85)
barely breathing (#66)
Paula Cole [I don’t want to wait] (#44)
No scrubs [I am actually not a fan of this song] (#87)
Kiss me (#91)
Genie In a bottle (#32)
Iris (#35) [I am not a fan of this song, either]

I will add all the songs that I liked that you all mentioned.
@flaimboi I Will be honest in saying the only person I have never heard of on that lise is neneh cherry.
Now I have to look it up because I have to increase my knowledge. Thank you. I learn something new every day.

Keep going folks.

chutterhanban's avatar

@ 90s_kid: I know you needed a list, it just kinda took away from all of our fun when he put like 200 songs… lol.

90s_kid's avatar

not really, I mean I like when people talk about the song but whatever.
I did kind-of want a list but with a favorite song. I can never get my point across without anyone saying anything.

90s_kid's avatar

@ tiffany
marilyn manson-lunchbox
I love the first line where the kid says “this motha F*ckers gonna get my medal!”
And his creepiest (and maybe best) wassweet dreams this is the video 4:09 gave me nightmares (you might have to pause).
No my favorite is nobodies…no…CAN’T MAKE UP MY MIND.

asmonet's avatar

@90s: Your goal is achieved either way, since many people are going to respond, they form a collective list, individual users could also post lists of their own, you didn’t say, “Post a list of all your favorites!” You said you only said you needed a list.

So why be so abrasive?

90s_kid's avatar

I’m not angry about the responses at all, and even if no one answers “perfect” that is fine beacuse no one is perfect. As I always say “I can never make my point clear”. Its all cool.

TitsMcGhee's avatar

Pretty much the entire soundtrack of Empire Records… it has a bunch of great stuff: Gin Blossoms, Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Buggles, Ass Ponies, Better Than Ezra, Dishwalla… I definitely love some of the stuff that everyone else says. Oh, and my favorite Marilyn Manson is “This is the New Shit”

90s_kid's avatar

No that isn’t my favorite. Haha

asmonet's avatar

I didn’t say you were angry, I said you were abrasive.

90s_kid's avatar

Ooh ok. Sorry. everyone finds flaws in me because there are too many in me. haha.

tiffyandthewall's avatar

@90s, yesssssssssssss. dude he’s made so many good songs, especially in the 90s. he’s crazy and just freaking awesome haha.

ahh every time i check this post i think of a new song i really like.
there’s a bunch by rancid that i love, but i can’t think of a specific favourite of theirs, they’ve made so many.

laureth's avatar

Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
Move Any Mountain – The Shamen
(These remind me of my first winter break at college, when I housesat for a sympathetic friend who knew I didn’t want to visit family over the holidays. Freedom!!)

#1 Crush – Garbage
Du Hast – Rammstein
(My angry, goth phase)

The Freshman – Verve Pipe
November Rain – Guns ‘n Roses
Never There – Cake
Wicked Game – Chris Isaak
(A couple historic breakups)

Under the Bridge – Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Old Apartment – Barenaked Ladies
One Headlight – The Wallflowers
(Places where I used to live)

Hell – Squirrel Nut Zippers
Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon – Urge Overkill
Pure Morning – Placebo
A Long December – Counting Crows
Tubthumping – Chumbawamba
Ava Adore – Smashing Pumpkins
Losing My Religion – R.E.M.
(Various Reasons)

Thanks for asking this. I had to go back through my music to remember what came from the 90s, and I rediscovered a lot of stuff I forgot about! Yay! :)

90s_kid's avatar

@ laureth

under the bridge (#11)
the old apartment—can’t stand that song :). Placeswhere I used to live…did you know that “under the bridge” is about him reminiscing about when he was addicted to heroine:
“under the bridge, down, down that’s where I drew some blood”.
tubthumping (#99) i just added that a few days ago. Did you know that the singer is actually Ben Unwin and that lady with the strange voice singing the versus is Rebbecca Whitney? Chumbawumba is the English people who play the instruments.
loosing my religion (#10) “loosing my religion” is a term that means “going craazy”.

And NO I did not just look this up on the internet now..I know this. Trust me.

90s_kid's avatar

Nice talking to you all love you all. Imma get banned now so bye 90’s lovazz. pce :)

shadling21's avatar

I don’t have time to look through all the above responses… Sorry.
Seal – Kiss from a Rose
Tracy Chapman – Give me one reason

Stuff by Fiona Apple, Radiohead, RHCP… So much music to love!

flameboi's avatar

@chutter
o.k. If I have to pick one, Rock ‘n roll star by Oasis, actually, definitely maybe is one of the albums that marked my life, and the first one I bough with my own money back in 1994!

90s_kid's avatar

fiona apple (#78)
radiohead (#33)
RHCP [under he bridge] (#11)
RHCP [therside] (#37)
oasis (#34)

TitsMcGhee's avatar

ps @everyone who has said something about RHCP’s: Californication is barely a 90’s album (released in either June or July of ‘99) and By the Way is NOT a 90’s album (released in ‘02). And Flavor of the week is from ‘01. just fyi.

90s_kid's avatar

I know. I just love the song “otherside”. So if it was from ‘99 then its ok ;)

shadling21's avatar

What about Rage Against the Machine? I think Bulls on Parade was a pretty big hit.

@Tits – I thought Blood Sugar Sex Magik was fairly popular (1992, baby!). I mean, that one had “Give It Away”, “Under the Bridge”, etc.

90s_kid's avatar

givit away givit away givit away now!

It’s actually called “can’t stop” ;)

laureth's avatar

@90sKid: Cool facts. :) It’s mostly the way the song sounds that takes me right back.

chutterhanban's avatar

@ flameboi: I’ll have to check out that song. I really like Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall, of course. I actually just covered Wonderwall at a show not too long ago!

90s_kid's avatar

is oasis still a band to this day? I just heard about them not long ago but I am not sure.

90s_kid's avatar

“The band’s seventh studio album titled Dig Out Your Soul, produced by Dave Sardy, was released on 6 October 2008.”

but I don’t like wiki but it must be true because I just heard about them on 955bru yesterday.

shadling21's avatar

@90s – I saw Oasis live in October. They’re still doing their thang.

90s_kid's avatar

Woo!

they creep me out but they are freaking awesome!
I hate their songs bust I just can’t stop listening to them!!!!!

TitsMcGhee's avatar

@shadling/90s_kid: “Can’t Stop” is most definitely on By the Way… and “Give it Away” is on Blood Sugar Sex Magik. They are two different songs fo’ sho.

shadling21's avatar

Good call, Tits.

TitsMcGhee's avatar

I’m very committed to RHCP. Flea and I are just tight like that.

TitsMcGhee's avatar

Oh, and it’s also good to note that “Can’t Stop” was released in 2002 (not a 90’s song), and “Give It Away” was released (I’m pretty sure) in ‘92.

flameboi's avatar

@90’s
Oasis just realeased a new album that has been acclaimed by the critic, it’s awesome, I got all their albums :)

90s_kid's avatar

Give it away= the one with him and the freaky hair due and they are all chrome in the musicvideo?

and yes I had a serious senior moment there.
I don’t know much bout RHCP but that I messed up on.

Skyrail's avatar

Anything released by Sigur Ros, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin or The Flashbulb during the 90’s. Not quite what you would call typical “90’s” music, but it was made in the 90’s…

TitsMcGhee's avatar

@90s: HAHHAHA SENIOR MOMENT you’re fourteen, lawlz lawlz lawlz.

Give It Away was that video, I’m pretty sure… It’s been awhile since I watched music videos. In fact, I haven’t watched many since THE BOX was on tv….

omg, please tell me someone else remembers “The Box”...

90s_kid's avatar

@ Skyrail
heard of all of them except “Boards of Canada”...

aprilsimnel's avatar

I just looked at my iPod, and while not my absolute faves from the 90s, these songs do get a lot of play:

Coming Up Roses by Elliott Smith
Cigarettes & Chocolate Milk by Rufus Wainwright
Coffee & TV by Blur
Song 2 by Blur
Bills, Bills, Bills by Destiny’s Child
Fools Gold by The Stone Roses (single released in 1990, but the entire badazzmutha album it came from was put out in July 1989. Just get it.)
Army of Me by Björk
Man In A Box by Alice in Chains

90s_kid's avatar

Destiny’s Child (#88)
Björk (???) I put ‘I miss you’ on there what happened?
alice in Chains (##20)

NewZen's avatar

Mine is from 1989 – because I only discovered it in 1990 – does that “count”?

Linda R. and A. Neville – Cry like a Rainstorm, Howl like the wind album. Especially this song, which means more to me every day:

Linda ronstadt featuring aaron neville
(barry mann/cynthia weil/tom snow)

Look at this face
I know the years are showin
Look at this life
I still dont know where its goin

I dont know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know

Look at these eyes
They never seen what mattered
Look at these dreams
So beaten and so battered

I dont know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know

So many questions
Still left unanswered
So much
I’ve never broken through

And when I feel you near me
Sometimes I see so clearly
The only truth I’ve ever known
Is you.

Look at this man
So blessed with inspiration
Look at this soul
Still searching for salvation

I dont know much
But I know I love you
And that may be
All I need to know

All there is to know
