Was Israel justified in killing US Navy men, bombing the USS Liberty, and did Israel apoligize and was that fatal attack on the USS Liberty Justified?

Read your own article and you will see it was clearly a mistake, which Israel owned up to. But it was a mistake due to miscommunications on the American side as well as on the Israeli side. It was an extremely unfortunate event, but the blame is on both countries. Israel also then issued millions of dollars to the U.S. and the families who were affected for compensation. I can’t find anything on whether there was a formal apology issued by Israel, which makes me think that there wasn’t, however I find it hard to believe they would pay millions in compensation and admit it was their mistake and not issue an apology.

Why would Israel attack one of its most powerful allys on purpose during a war with 3 other countries that want to obliterate it?

Only one real way to answer this obviously rhetorical “question”. Why, with a link, of course.

before anyone blames any country for their actions they must specify whether they are referring to the country’s government or the country’s people. Would you like other’s opinions of you to be based on George Bush and our current government. People basically hate war and love not-war. Governments love money, and fear, war, and uncertainty; like the current situation in Israel. Tense, scary, and seemingly endless this is a situation that makes the very rich, very richer and the ‘people’ get the shaft…hush yo’ mouth

mote—great contribution to the discussion! Maybe you could get out the crayola’s and express your self that way, or with more pictures. I understand that mentally challanged folks often create cognitive narratives using mental pictures/visual images. I am very proud of your efforts to add to this discussion.

Justified, it looks like, from the responses here——Israel could get away with anything and you all would cheer. Even the murder of your own troops. Raa Raa, Support the Troops—or not.

@mizuki. When you post a blatantly slanted viewpoint masquerading as a question, it quickly becomes obvious to everyone that you are trolling (i.e. purposely posting inflammatory comments with the intent of antagonizing other users).

As an aside, here is some helpful advice. When you attempt to insult someone’s intelligence, it helps if you don’t dilute the insult with ignorance. Thus, even a “mentally challanged” (sic) person like me knows grammar and spelling. For example, it is “crayolas” not “crayola’s”, “yourself” not “your self”, and “challenged” not “challanged”. Irony at its finest!

The question was legitimate and sincere.
Why does it seem Mote, that YOU are trolling?

By the way, english is my second language, and I invite you to kindly….....

Right. You say “The question was legitimate and sincere. ” That is blatantly untrue. The tone of your “question” and then your own response “Israel could get away with anything and you all would cheer. Even the murder of your own troops.” indicates quite clearly what your starting viewpoint was. You hoped to antagonize people, plain and simple. Hard to hide from the truth.

And, by the way, if English is in fact your second language (I have my doubts), perhaps you should consider using the spell-checking function embedded in most browsers.

Mote—you should be rich and famous with that uncanny ability of your’s to enter someone’s head and read their intentions. That is amazing!

Is there an “ignore” feature here? Can I suggest or add it to the suggestion box?
