Keep in mind that with Craigslist you do not have to pay any listing fees, closing fees, PayPal fees, etc. Whatever you charge for the item you will keep all the money. You also don’t normally have to deal with packing and shipping it. You can also sell it as soon as you find an interested buyer, you don’t have to wait a week for the auction to end.

Of course eBay is a much larger market. So you might get a little more for it, but after you consider all of the listing and selling fees, sometimes it evens out.

Good answer StellarAirman and the buyer hands the $$$$ with no fear of being hosed by a scam artist!

yeah… but ebay is world wide. The market doesn’t get any bigger.

I like craigslist don’t get me wrong. but if you dont live in a large city, you run the risk of your item not selling.

craigslist is partly owned by e-bay. However, e-bay has tanked and a lot of sellers have left. They’ve imposed so many new regulations and they only accept paypal. No more money orders or checks. As a result, people don’t shop there as much. It’s a great place to do compare prices and what things are listing for.

Thank you I think I should be fine because I am from NY and I think that’s ∀ great place to sell

I, personally, perfer e-bay over craigslist. My grandfather once baught an RV off craigslist and it ended up being crap. My meaning is that craigslist doesn’t seem as trustworthy so people may think you stole the iPhone. Plus, e-bay has Paypal.

With Craigslist you are generally buying from someone in your own city so you should go look at the stuff before you buy it. eBay does have PayPal, but Craigslist has cash. As long as you are doing face-to-face dealings on Craigslist and not sending things off to random addresses, you should not get scammed at all. On the other hand on eBay I have people trying to scam me almost every time I sell something.
