What's your favorite horror movie of the 2000's?

Ghostship. It wasn’t the most outstanding horror film ever, but I loved the pivotal scene that was filmed like a music video.

Silent Hill and The Mist are what I liked the most

Some scary ones have been

Blair Witch Project
Hostel
Saw (only saw #1)

but spooky films (not really horror) would include “The Others” which I found had a great twist

most of the rest I found to be unoriginal and sometimes even stupid

2005 – The Amityville Horror (one of the few films where I liked the remake better than the original), The Exorcism of Emily Rose
2006 – Mulberry Street
2007 – 1408, 28 Weeks Later, Borderland, The Deaths of Ian Stone, The Mist, The Orphanage
2008 – Let the Right One In

I’m kind of glad this question wasn’t about our least favorite horror films of the 2000s. That list would’ve been huge… Horror is my favorite genre because when it’s done well, there is just nothing better. Sadly, it’s not usually done well. :(

Seconding Shaun of the Dead and 28 Days Later.
Adding the Dawn of the Dead remake and 30 Days of Night.

I really liked High Tension. it was a french movie but i rented it from hollywood video. that movie was pretty awesome though.

Death Proof is the winner though (super sexy Tarantino b-movie – see Grindhouse) closely followed by 28 Days Later.
