Boot disk?

How would I go about choosing the boot disk in my bios on my Gateway P-6860FX laptop?

While booting up your computer it should have a list of the keys you can hit to bring you to certain areas before your computer boots up. They will probably be along the bottom during startup. I know on my windows box its F6. Depending on what your doing usually you would just want to boot from hard drive. If your trying to do boot from a CD then you would change the boot order to CD-ROM as the first option. Also some newer motherboards support the ability to boot from a USB.

I don’t know the answer to this question. however, I found by mistake that a number of Gateway hard drives installed in MacBooks failed spectacularly and lost the data on the hard drives in non-recoverable ways. since the same company made the laptop, I would see if that model also has problems.

@Ria777 I would say no, because the drive in my laptop is 320GB and the drives in the macbooks don’t go past about 250GB.
