Is my email account getting hacked?

Asked by acebamboo77 (720points) February 12th, 2009

So, this has happened two or three times now. I go to log into my email in the morning, and it says my password is incorrect. I change my password on a regular basis, and I have never given my password to anyone. Nor is the password easy. Even my best friend or my boyfriend would not be able to guess it.
When I get into my email, finally, there is nothing different. No deleted emails, no open emails that shouldnt be… nothing has changed.
What should I do?

It’s possible that you’re just forgetting/typing in the password wrong a lot and have to change it.

How are you able to change your password? Does it send a link to your “secondary” email address? Or does it ask a security question? If your security question is really easy, then someone may be able to guess it. You should change it. What about the secondary email account (if you have one)? Is the password hard to guess there too?
