If you delete your Fluther account is it permanent?

Asked by aviona (3260points) March 15th, 2009

I feel like I need a break (yes, already!) I know I’m new, but I’m seriously addicted already and have zero self control. I’m wondering if it’s like Facebook where you don’t delete your account per say but deactivate it and when you reactivate it everything is still there as it was before you left.

Anyone have any knowledge of this?

[Mod says] As it stands now, if you delete your account only a community manager can reinstate it for you. If you are just planning on taking a break, no need to delete the account. We’ll be here waiting for you when you get back. :)

Deleting a Fluther account = Sacrilege

Aviona, don’t leave us. Every Jelly is an important Jelly. Always remember that and come back soon.

If you go to the delete my account section it will say:

Permanently delete your account?
Your account name is aviona
We’re sorry to see you go.
Remember, you can always just change your notifications and log out.”

You don’t want to do that.

Just take a break. Don’t sign in for as long as you feel you need.

I once made a second account just to see what would happen if I went all the way. It’s scary what a few clicks can do.

[mod says:] Yes. You’ll need to contact support to have it reactivated, and we’re not very nice.

We’re actually reasonably nice, but if you deactivate your account there’s a little hurdle to having it reactivated again. Sorry.

PS: (not as a mod, just as me) We’d hate to see you go, especially so soon! You seem like a good fit here.

Thanks for all the quick and positive feedback guys :) I guess I’ll just have to change my notification settings and learn self control!
