I’m pretty sure you go through training. I know my hypnotherapist did.

Maybe it requires being in touch with some higher powers + training?

There is no such thing as psychic ability.

Hypnotism requires knowledge and technique. Psychics are completely other.

Hypnotism requires quite a bit of skill. Along with knowledge about physical processes of hypnotism, mental processes, and techniques used to hypnotize. Also it should require some training in Psychology because you are working with people in a very vulnerable state.

I wouldn’t say “anybody” can learn it but yes it is a skill you can learn. It does not require any psychic ability. Psychic ability is being able to read someone’s mind or communicate with spirits, etc.. Hypnotism is putting people in an altered state of consciousness with their permission using special techniques.

A good book I just read that had an interesting chapter on hypnotism was called “The Head Trip”. It is an easy read and quite interesting.

i’m pretty sure anyone can learn how to do it.
the trick to getting it right – once you learn how to go about it i guess – is that the person being hypnotized must be a pretty highly suggestible person in general. if one tries to hypnotize someone who is completely skeptical about hypnotism, it’s not likely to work. that being said, i don’t think the person under hypnosis is ‘faking’.
