Do you often talk in the third person? Side question: Do you name things after yourself?

Asked by Zen (7748points) April 10th, 2009

Do you refer to yourself as the Doctor? Do you call your band The Bee Gees, e.g. Did you call your son John, Jr.?

Not being judgmental, we’re just curious.

I think the closest I ever come to speaking in the third person is when I say things like “That makes me a sad Bean.” And I sometimes use things like “The MacBean” or “The Sage Bean” as usernames, which sound kind of… haughty.

I have a nickname from high school: “Hane” so sometimes I call myself Haneous.

No…not me. My five year old son names everything after himself though. All the bugs he catches, he names Carter Jr. All his stuffed animals are Carter Jr. Sometimes he talks about being a daddy someday, and says his kids will be named Carter Jr. He either really loves his name, or really loves himself.

I don’t name things after myself, but other people have, as you’ll have noticed. Susan C. Obama, Susan C. Leno, Susan C. Colbert, Susan C. Blige…..
