What was the real storyline for Mulholland Drive?

David Lynch is adamant that there are no "real" storylines for any of his film. He insists in interview after interview that one person's subjective experience of a film is as valid as any other's. I've heard some fascinating theories on the plot of this one in particular, but none can ever claim the title of the "real" one.
