So let me get this straight, the Ewoks were going to roast them alive and then all of a sudden they become cute and cuddly?

Does this seem plausible to you?

Yes.

I was going to flame you for mocking Star Wars, then i realized i should just answer you. People change. and if people can change, so can figments of some fat man’s imagination.

Was it the Ewoks who were going to be roasted alive or were the other Star Wars characters going to roast the Ewoks?

After Luke convinced the Ewoks that C3PO was a god by tricking them with the Force, they were summarily conviced that they should not eat them.

Quite frankly, I am certain that they would have gotten little nourishment from C3PO, so that may have been part of their decision.

Besides if the Ewoks had eaten the various characters they would have been in trouble because then the zippers on the backs of their costumes wouldn’t be able to close any longer.

And at that time, Lucas still thought he was going to make 9 movies in total, so killing off Luke et al in episode VI would make it impossible for there to be any later episodes.

Ewoks=weakest link in the Star Wars original trilogy.

@Darwin they never were going to eat C3PO. as he says, the others will served for dinner in his honor.

Darwin's avatar

That’s only because they didn’t have a can-opener.

eponymoushipster's avatar

you’re not mixing up R2D2 and C3PO are you? tell me you’re not.

Darwin's avatar

Not at all. Both are metal, but C3PO looks bipedal and thus possibly edible. Besides, R2D2 periodically produces various weapons and rockets, and is much smarter than C3PO.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Darwin ok. actually, R2D2 would seem the better option. more rotund, possibly more meat.

the probable answer is that they were not the droids the Ewoks were looking for, to eat.

@eponymoushipster Carrie Fisher was pretty delectable in that slave girl outfit though.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@The_Compassionate_Heretic well, that’s a different kind of “eating”. and she was. i’m fairly certain that that remains the predominant nerd male fantasy.

@eponymoushipster Jabba looked like he was going to eat her. For real.
