Be AstroChuck. Or give lots of good answers. Either works.

Be funny at times, and answer questions the best you can :)

Maybe some people give their friends GA and GQ even if they really aren’t .
Make friends with people in high places, and reply with a reasonable answer regardless of how crappy you may think it is or has already been given .

Never ask for lurve…lurve will be given when necessary. Just be yourself, and answer questions the best you can, and ask the good questions when they come to you.

@ilvorangeiceblocks….Welcome to fluther. Knowledgeable and insightful answers are best. Proper grammar and spelling are appreciated; text speak is shunned. Concise yet thorough responses with supporting links are recognized well. Long dissertations are fine, as long as you are truly saying something new as you go on and not just rehashing the same point over and over (@dalepetrie is not long winded….he has a lot to say and backs his stuff up with examples, etc). Clever posts work; silly dumb ones, do not. Showing respect to other jellies is expected; personal attacks or insults are not tolerated. And finally, some say awarding GAs (Great Answers) to @whatthefluther, or wtf, as his friends call him, may bring you happiness, luck and possibly points in return . But I should point out this is heresay so I can’t promise anything. Again, welcome to fluther. See ya….wtf (my initials)
PS: What I wouldn’t give for an orange ice block right about now (maybe a GQ?)

Even better – “What are the best ways to become a successful Flutherite or Jelly?” (It sounds better than asking about shamelessly seeking out lots of lurve in very short order although I do understand that you’re a noob and I forgive you this time.)~

Lots of participation will get you to where you want to be along with the aforementioned advice of @MacBean, @Tink1113, @sandystrachan, @RandomMrdan, and @whatthefluther. And there’s plenty more sage advice from tons of other veteran Jellies who will probably ring in later. Stay tuned and welcome to Fluther!

Realize that the “points” won’t really get you anything. I really couldn’t care less about the amounts of points I’m given, I just like it when I see an answer of mine has been named a Great Answer by someone.

Bluefreedom's avatar

@Vincentt. Like right now for instance? I just happen to have some lurve for you.

It ain’t a competition, man.

Unless you get into a friendly rivalry and/or battle of wits. There are multiple smart-asses on here I will try to out smart-ass.

cookieman's avatar

@MacBean: Are you suggesting the two are mutually exclusive? ;^)

@ilvorangeiceblocks: Welcome to Fluther.

Do not pursue the lurve. It is an elusive mistress. Lurve will find you when the time is right.

The_Compassionate_Heretic's avatar

Lurve comes from participation.

@Bluefreedom Awww you mentioned me on your post :)

@ilvorangeiceblocks Hehe this is one if the examples that @sandystrachan mentioned

ps. Welcome to Fluther

@MacBean- What, I don’t give good answers?

mattbrowne's avatar

The best way? Not to worry about it at all. Look at interesting questions and comments and become engaged in lively debates.

I am in a secret lurve competition with my friend who introduced me to this site Lkidkyle. I find it fun to compete, right now I’m beating him by a small margin.

@sandystrachan FYI, one can only give one’s friends so much lurve before they are maxed out. I believe the maximum number is 100. That makes it impossible for friends to artificially crank up one another’s lurve.

@whatthefluther gave a wonderful description of what it takes to get lurve on this site. Hang around, check out the site, get comfortable with the place, answer questions, be clear and concise. But mostly, just relax and enjoy. If you think you have something of value to add to a conversation go for it, great input will always be rewarded. Look at Janets she’s visited this site exactly once and holds second place in the “Great Question” Sweepstakes. Number one is this question, which is quite simply… The. Best. Fluther. Question. Ever.

Welcome to Fluther – Enjoy!

To get points, probably compliment Fluther a lot. To have a rewarding experience, put thought into your answers, treat others with respect, and enjoy yourself.

@SuperMouse That is alot of lurve that one friend could enhance your lurve by , imagine you left enough trail for them to give that amount of lurve but you had 15 friends doing so . That would boost your * a great deal they could also use there many email address’ to make other fluther accounts = more lurve to you .

Wow people are starting to mention my name in Answers…........<3
