Question about "Finder" on Mac.

Asked by Facade (22937points) August 4th, 2009

I’m trying to save files from my university website. It’s not letting me paste the files to a folder or to my desktop. I’m able to paste files from one class, but not the other.

Can you help?

It sounds like you have more of an issue with the university website. Did you download all the files to the desktop or downloads folder and then copy them where you want them to be?

I did it to the dl folder and moved them from there like I always do

Hmm… How familiar with macs are you? I don’t want to go through explicitly if you already know how…

I just got it but I’m navigating well.
What I did:
1. Downloaded the file(s)
2. Opened them in the Finder
3. Copied
4. Tried to paste but instead got a prompt- “The objects on this clipboard cannot be pasted to this location. One or more of the items may have been deleted or are not available”

Try copying again and then pasting again. Or just drag the files to the desktop or wherever you want them to go.
