What's your opinion of America's Next Top Model?

I thought it was great!! they don’t look significantly short to me. i’m excited for this season.

I watch re-runs when they’re on and nothing else decent is, but it’s far from must-see-TV for me.

Having only girls who are 5’7” and under is silly. What actual “top models” are that short aside from Kate Moss, who is an absolute anomaly in the industry? I understand that Tyra wants to expand the standard of beauty, and that’s great. But implying that any of these girls have a chance of being a “top model” is ridiculous.

I watch this show every season! I love Tyra! I’m no expert in the modeling industry, but I think short women have as much a right to be models as the tall and I’m glad Tyra is giving them a chance!

It could be one of the stupidest and most superficial TV shows of all time.

@ShanEnri Do you think that one girl is a complete and total nutcase? I think its kinda obvious who I’m talking about… ;)

@Likeradar A couple of seasons ago, there was a plus size girl (who is still smaller than the average American, but is a plus model) who won. I think that with the kind of portfolio that some of the girls will have that they might actually have a shot at doing something.

@avvooooooo Whether or not Tyra & Co vote someone as the winner really isn’t indicative of if they have a chance to actually be a top model. If it was called “Tyra’s Favorite New Model” it would make sense. It would be nice to have real plus size (which is a silly label anyway) women as top models though…

I don’t know much about it. From the previews, it doesn’t seem like something I’d be interested in. Then again, I saw the previews for Big Brother and poo-pooed it, but I found myself oddly interested in it.

My cousin Aubrey likes ANTM. Yes, he’s a guy. I remember I responded to a question here once saying I didn’t have any gay family members. I’m beginning to rethink that…

They should do something thats productive, and not worry about themselves so much. “They forget that the man makes the clothes, not the clothes make the man.” I want to punch someone in the face that deserves it everytime I hear how much those dresses cost, or purses, etc. Ridiculously sad.

@Likeradar None of them necessarily become top models, but Tyra’s fav girls do get a lot of jobs based on what they did on the show. So actually… it should be “Tyra’s modeling career kickstarter.”

In the future, people are going to start saving up for clothes instead of cruises, or going out of town with the family.

I love it, it’s a major guilty pleasure of mine!

I live in the UK so obviously we don’t see the new cycles until nearly a year after you guys in the States but I always look forward to them and this one where they are all shorter will be no exception for me.
