What part of your life exactly? Career? Relationships? Education???

Baby steps, of course. This tip, although not directly related to change in your life, will probably help.

Welcome to the collective. Providing more context for your question in the details section is helpful in getting you the answers that you need.

General advice:

1. Don’t try to change every aspect at once.

2. It takes 28 days to ingrain the path for a new habit.

3. Make sure you are driving the change from liking and accepting yourself as you are, but wanting to move in a new direction.

If you want to provide more specifics, the help can get a little more specific too.

If it is in regards to your vocation, try regressing a bit… what inspired you and capured your imagination when you were younger? What subjects and activities seemed to come naturally to you? Finding a career that’s suited to your personality makes life so much more pleasurable and rewarding.

I like the answer posted by sccrowell. Good idea. I’ll have to do that myself.

If the question is in regards to your career…look into taking the “Strong Interest Inventory” assessment. If you work in a corporate structure with a Human Resources department, they may be able to help you get this assessment. Otherwise, Google it. It’s a VERY good self assessment and will help you figure out what your strong skills or interests are and what career paths you may choose that would support those skills and interests.

Sometimes when your career is in line with your values, and you enjoy what you’re doing for a living, having such a positive in your life will help EVERYTHING else seem better, and if not, can actually give you the oomph to make other positive changes in other areas.

I would also suggest exercising if you don’t already. With me, that normally gets almost everything else going in the right direction.

I look at it this way, if you want to change, do cause if you don’t do it now, you’re most likely not going to. Take a chance. If you fail, you only become stronger.

@sccrowell Great Answer, have you looked into posting “how to’s” on ehow? You can get paid real money for good answers.

@Aprilleigh1974 Thank you! Perhaps it will help someone…

@YARNLADY Thank you very much. As for ehow, I’m not familiar with that site. I’m Also not sure how I’d go about it. I love doing things like this, though.

Be of service to others. Make that your primary motivation. If you do that, opportunities will fall off the shelves into your hands. Take one that feels good to you.
