What are good Careers in Finance for someone fluent in many languages?

Asked by MuffinMonarch (148points) September 25th, 2009

I’m a University student in Finance (might dbl major in Math) and I plan to know Spanish,French,German, and English upon graduating. I would like to work outside the U.S. (unless the US pay is way more lol) What jobs are in Finance that make alot of money but more importantly that me knowing multiple languages will give me a big advatage (both money making wise and job landing wise) in Finance? What are good sources to learn about jobs in Finance or Global Finance?

P.S. I also would love to travel a good amount in my Job but even if your ideas dont involve travel its ok too :D

Join one of the major iBanks and go through their Associate training program. You will get oppty’s to travel, leverage your languages on overseas deals, etc. Suggest joining one here in NY with a view to transferring quickly to London or Hong Kong.

Alternatively you could go into project finance with the World Bank, European Bank or similar – but harder for US citizen’s to break into.
