Is the Award process not-real-time?

Asked by aphilotus (2926points) October 12th, 2009

Not to be all award-grubby, but there are a couple of awards that I know should be showing up (I hit the criteria for them) on my user page, but haven’t yet. Awards I’ve completed and then gotten seem to take at least an hour or two to show up as “gotten” post-completion. Some haven’t shown up at all?

On the other hand, I’ve seen people get awards within seconds of hitting those criteria?

The lurve system I know is not-quite-real-time but pretty-darn-good. Do the awards just scan every couple of days, and some people got hyper-lucky in their get-timing?

It doesn’t seem to be.

Not real time, but it should show up fairly quickly.

As @The_Compassionate_Heretic says it’s pretty quick – the Eeee eeeee eeeee Award has appeared on my page within 15 minutes of verifying my IM name (which is surprisingly the same as my Fluther name!)

Hmm. My Erenest Hemingway just isn’t popping up, then.

PM Tim and he’ll fix it. Tell him specifically which award you should have gotten.

Ok. This has totally passed me by. Are you saying there are things you can do to win awards? And that you actually do things to win awards? Uh oh. I sense the beginning of the end.

There’s a tiny issue that can cause a delay. We hope to fix it soon.
