Does anyone have experience with legitimate work from home opportunities?

Asked by torch81 (672points) October 12th, 2009

Like nearly 1 in 10 USAmericans, I’m unemployed. I’m in a small town so the options are pretty limited. I’ve seen a lot of ads in the classifieds for different work at home opportunities. However, once I start doing any research on them, I quickly find out that people rarely make money on them or that they are out and out scams. So I ask you fellow fluthers, do you know of a way to make good money from home?

There’s sites that offer freelance work from other people who need a job done. You generally need to have some skill to accomplish this. For example; typing reviews, testing internet security, creating websites, homework helper etc.

I’m not sure if this is a good site or not, but its an example.

An online friend of mine made her living for a few years on West-at-Home, and she highly recommended it to me when I was concidering doing something from home while recuperating from aslow healing knee surgery. She says she now makes her money from a site named cha-cha, but I don’t know anything about them, and she isn’t as happy with them.
