Having a problem posting questions from my iPhone. Any ideas of why?

Asked by HGl3ee (3955points) October 20th, 2009

I haven’t been successful in posting questions to Fluther from my iPhone on the Fluther app. Is there a certain setting or “box” I have to check in order for it to work? I really wish it did :( I always think of all my best ideas on the go and then forget them by the time I get on a computer. – LB

With all due respect to the Fluthergods who created the app, I prefer to use the regular iFluther site due to similar problems. Just go to the browser and type in “Fluther.com” and it will redirect to the iPhone version.

Additionally I have added it to my screen and it works just like an app.

Yeah, I had to find that one out the hard way. I honestly don’t know why anyone in their right mind would continue using the app rather than Safari.

There are so many limitations to the app. Another thing you can’t do while using the app is to click on any links which people have included in their posts. It took me many frustrating times to figure that out also.

As far as I’m concerned, the only conceivable use for the app is to allow people to discover Fluther by means of the app store. That’s how I discovered Fluther.

But I honestly think there should be something mentioned in the guidelines for newcomers about the many limitations of continuing to use the app rather than Safari so that they don’t get discouraged by these limitations. Just a thought.

The Fluthergods did not create the app. It was made by Magnetism Studios. It looks nice and all but is way too limited. Use the web app instead. It’s much better and that app was designed by the Fluthergods on high.

Praise be their holy names.

So who did create it?

And what could possibly be the rationale for purposely crippling it by disallowing essential functions?
