I have noticed alot of people use googles apps such as google voice, google docs, google wave..is there any point to using these if I am already committed to mobileme? I am a mac and iphone user as well.

Those apps are different then what Apple offers in their online suite. While there are overlapping feature sets between Apple and Google, there are instances when both companies products are suitable to use simultaneously.

@cjmegatron81 what are some of the apps that google offers that don’t overlap?

I was going to get mobileme, then google came out out with push gmail.

Honestly with Google you have mostly everything MobileMe offers in free form.

Bloggers, Docs, Reader, Gmail, Wave, and now even Voice.

Which I have to say i really enjoy Google Voice, and hoping for a Wave invite soon too.

In Conclusion, I dont think I will ever get a mobileme subscription. Waste of $99 to me.

@willbrawn as a mobileme user do you think I would have any use for google wave?

@rguest I don’t know honestly. I just started using it yesterday. Still very new to me and I’m
not sure how I am going to use it yet lol.

Google Apps are great! I love them. If you don’t have the cash they can be a great free alternative to MobileMe. It has push calendars, contacts, and mail for the iPhone too!
