Where can I find a wire about quarter inch thick and pliable?

Asked by ezraglenn (3502points) February 7th, 2008

I am constructing a structure out of a wire frame, about six feet tall and four feet at it’s widest, kind of an oval, with thin, red, transparent plastic between the wires. Any suggestions? It is supposed to be a human heart, but doesnt need to be anatomically correct.

Oof—I assume you’ve used sculpture wire before? It’s soft aluminum wire. Probably not stiff enough for this.

Check out mcmaster carr: http://mcmaster.com

They have just about everything—look for annealed steel wire.

go buy romex at a home repair store like home depot and cut out the inner wires.

Grainger.com has several kinds of wire that would be suitable for this.
