Some of my laptop settings seemed to have resetted, how can I fix these problems?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) November 1st, 2009

Well I had a presentation for one of my classes & I plugged in a projection beamer to my laptop. After that I noticed that some of my settings from my laptop have changed!
The thing I want back is, you know when you put your computer on standby and when you have the lid closed but when you open it back the window shows yours user name with the picture and you have to click the picture/name to open the windows. Well that setting I want back. How can I fix it?

I am using Vista btw.

Somewhere, in the many-click land of Vista, if you go to the Power Settings in the control panel and then change your advanced power setting there’s an option to ask for a password when you resume. You probably want that.

I don’t have Vista in front of me, so I can’t get much more specific.

Right-click on your desktop, choose “Personalize” choose “Screen Saver” choose “Power Options”, change the parameters for what happens when you close the lid to “Sleep”.
