Is it possible to put the Dell Dock on HP Vista?

Asked by xTheDreamer (897points) December 24th, 2009

My dad just got a new laptop and it’s a Dell, this is the first time I’ve seen a Dell because we usually buy HP.
While I was fixing some stuff on my dad’s new laptop I’ve notice the Dock on top of the desktop and I was like this is amazing, I want it how can I get it on my laptop.

Now I have a HP laptop and I heard that this Dell Dock is only capable with Dell but I still want to see if anyone knows how I can get it on my HP laptop.

Here’s what I mean with Dell Dock: http://gizmodo.com/5019768/dell-dock-puts-a-little-mac-os-x-into-vista-studio-laptops

I don’t think you’ll be able to get the Dell dock because its inbuilt with dell systems. But you should just get rocket dock. Its free and its better.

Rocket Dock…its better

“It’s just a special modified version of Object Dock which you can get from Stardock (even says it in the page title).”

Rocket dock has loads of features, personally I think its the best. You can have live video in it. You can set all your windows to minimise to it meaning you don’t even need the taskbar if you don’t want it. Theres also lots and lots of different styles you can customise it to.

@StupidGirl Are you referring to the Dell dock or RocketDock? As for AWN being better, most things in Linux are ;)

Personally, I’ve been using RocketDock for years. Many regard it as the best dock program for Windows and I am more likely to trust people who put something out because they like good software than I am to trust people like Stardock who write cripple-ware in an attempt to get you to pay them to upgrade.
