I am new to this site, and I would like to know if fluther allows you to add friends to a list as answerbag does?

Hi babyblue! Yes, click on their avatar and you can add them to your fluther.

Welcome to fluther. It looks like there’s a bit of a migration from your old site. I hope you’ll look around and get a feel for the culture of fluther. There’s a pretty strong community feel, and the guidelines are helpful.

The original purpose of having your own “fluther” was to use it as a filter: you can see questions just from people on that list if you don’t want to look at the full list. I’m not sure many use it that way. Some do treat it as a friends list; others see it slightly differently—for instance, as a list of interesting users, whether they like them or not. Some people just ignore the whole thing.

Not too long ago the feature was added that you could see a person’s whole history of questions asked. Some were uncomfortable with that much exposure because questions are often personal. The limitation was included that you could, if you wished, make yours available only to people in your fluther. So now it’s a two-way filter if you choose that option.
