Are there free, legal websites where I can download or watch full TV episodes that I miss?

Asked by FireMadeFlesh (16593points) December 12th, 2009

Every now and then I miss a TV program and have not recorded it. Is there a way I can catch up watching them online that is both free and legal? Box sets are expensive for things I will probably only watch once or twice, although I do buy them for my favourite shows.

hulu.com, free and legal, but they don’t have every show.

Hulu has a lot of shows, but they usually show only the most recent ones. I watch The Office on Nbc.com, but I think they take a week or two to update and only show the last four or five episodes.

Hulu.com is good but only works if you’re in America. I would try going to the website of whatever tv station it is on and try there.

I live outside of North America now, and I use a combination of sidereel.com (which saves all my favourite shows, and tells me about upcoming episodes) and watch-series.com, because I hate megavideo. Just loathe it. These two are streaming, by the way.

you can watch a lot of them on the networks websites, but I don’t think you can download them. You have to watch them streaming. I got rid of the cable and started paying per episode on xbox live. I’m saving money and only paying for what I want to watch.

I recommend sidereal.com, it’s very reliable and has just about every show.

@brownlemur Surf the Channel clearly states that it does not stream any videos. And the sites that do, do it illegally. The only reason why they’re not shut down is because they’re all in China.

I second Hulu but something weird is going on with them. And you can only watch T.V. show in the states.

I recommend downloading youtube vids with youtube downloader. Not only is the downloader official, but it breaks no rules.

@Bugabear —Hulu is about to stop being free too—sometime next year.

Others have mentioned hulu, but fancast.com and quicksilverscreen.com have some tv shows (including older ones) that hulu does not.

I really have enjoyed hulu.com and youtube.com for TV/cable series. Also, with a minimum disc-to-home membership, netflix let’s you watch unlimited movies or shows on your computer.

@all Thanks for the answers, I will try these sites eventually. Hulu won’t work for me because I can’t fool it into thinking I am within the US, and I haven’t quite worked out why sidereal.com isn’t working. Thanks again!

Does anybody have a website like Hulu but works in Canada? My friend live there and he always complains about having to go to Megavideo to catch up on The Office.
