Would this get past airport security [pic]?

It’s the pin and safety pins I’m concerned about, I’d be fine taking them off and keeping the tabs but I’d just prefer to know ahead of time so I wouldn’t have to go through the hassle while I’m there.

Thanks :D

I think it’ll get by but if in doubt just put em in the bag- I have put all sorts in my handbag and only a few years ago did they take them- I once ended up in china with a live round in my bag ( I had no idea it was there I had been hunting the week before) nowadays I travel with tweezers, scissors, etc

It depends on the screener, some of them over react, they love to go on and on about the greater good for the public and their safety ! One time,I was told by one of those SOBs, I had to take off my earrings as they could be used as a weapon.

I agree with Pretty Lilly, it depends on the screener. But they’re aren’t listed as prohibited on the TSA website: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=TSA+prohibited+items

I have a teddy bear with safety pins in his ears.
They never say anything about him, and he’s always my carry on.

If you are worried about the pins, losing the losing and sewing the tabs on with a needle and thread would eliminate the risk and be a sure fire way of getting it through.

Shouldn’t be a problem

Lovely bag, by the way.

I don’t think it will get by, someone I know went through (when she wasn’t even flying, her daughter was!) with a combination bottle opener/letter opener/etc. and the letter opener got her in trouble, and they took it.

During my drug crazed days i’ve actually taken 40 small tenner bags of charlie from Heathrow airport to home :) If these pins are precious to you i suggest you leave it at home and avoid any fusses or discarding them.
