Can you recommend a helpful blog for a novice gardener?

Asked by sarahsugs (2906points) January 3rd, 2010

I am looking for a blog or other on-line community that will help me take control of my pitiful garden. I am relatively new to gardening and am getting discouraged as the things I plant fail to bloom or get sickly. I would love a site that offers a simple monthly gardening to-do list, as well as resources to help me figure out what to plant, where to plant it, and how to care for it so that it doesn’t die right away (dang it!).

I should note that I don’t have hours every day to spend in my garden, so something geared towards gardeners with only a couple hours here and there would be helpful too.

I suggest you do a search for Master Gardener + your city or state

Kitchen Gardeners International have a very nice site with lots of good info.

There is also a Forum section where you can interact and post any questions you may have.

Very friendly folks and welcoming type of community spirit.

Davesgarden is pretty helpful. I think it cost something like $25 per year. If you have spacific questions, you could ask them here or if that would be considered hijacking a thread you could post another question in another thread. With 25 years of gardening under phil196662’s belt, I bet he/she has a wealth of knowledge.
