Can anyone help me find this piano music?

Asked by intro24 (1434points) January 15th, 2010

I have a friend that plays what she claims is called “The Most High Rules”. She said she got it from a piano music book of some kind. I really like how it goes and I’ve searched for it on two separate occasions now. Yet, for the life of me, I can’t find any relevant results on the internet. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, maybe it just isn’t online anywhere. Anyway, if anyone could perhaps find it for me or point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Any ideas?

A music store?

Are you sure that your friend has the title right? Does she still have the sheet music so you could look at the page?

Becayse I cannot find any reference to that as a published song title.

@Marina Ok, thank you, so it’s not just me. Guess I’ll have to ask her about it.

Is is a hymn or some kind of religious song?

I think it’s a religious song. I’ve only heard the beginning so I really don’t know.

Is this the song?

A lot of religious songs have numberous titles depending on which kind of religion sings them. As a Unitarian Universalist our hymnal is filled with traditional Christian songs with different lyrics to make them more “Unitarian”. Try going to a music store—a real one, not one of those chain stores—with a recording of the song. People who work at stores like that tend to be pretty knowledgeable about music and could point you in the right direction. If you’re sure it’s a religious song, maybe ask a church musician.

Alright thanks, I’ll try some of these suggestions. And sorry scamp, that’s not the song. Also I’ve asked my very religious uncle who makes a living on playing religious piano music and he’d never heard of it before so I’ll probably have to just ask my friend next time I see her.
