I want to send money anonimously. Will Western Union reveal the sender's identity to the recipient?

Asked by Dodgy_Dog (25points) January 19th, 2010

I have to fill my name and address to send money but I don;t want the receiver to know who I am.

@pdworkin has got the right idea. A money order (or gram) would be the best anonimous way to send money. Western Union requires a lot of info to send and receive the funds.

The person would also have to know the funds were there to get.

Is it me? I hope it’s me.

Second the money order idea.

Walk into a Western Union agent with cash, withhold personal information and see what happens.

Let us know how it works.

I have not done any research into this (Saw it on a blog a while ago) but this service allows you to give money to people anonymous.

Even a bank draft will do. The signer is the Bank not the purchaser. Unless you identify yourself intentionally, the cheque will be received anonymously!

I don’t have your answer., but I want to second the givinganon.org website. It’s not the fastest, because they verify the address & send a check, but it is completely anonymous. The receiver is asked to let the site know when they receive the check, so the giver does have confirmation too.
