Why my external hard disk not showing any movies when I play in my DVD player?

I have a ex hard disk with full of divx,avi movies,but I want play these movies my dvd player through USB ,I cannot find anything in hard disk,help me ..

Well, these are not DVD’s. They are avi files. Use VLC to play them.

@johnpowell,thnks 4ur response,can u tell me more bout it,what is vlc? & how to use them

Download and install VLC. It is three clicks.

Open VLC and use File—>Open. This should prompt you for a box so you can browse for the video.

And in the future can you please tell us if you are using a Mac or Windows.

@johnpowell,I’m using windows vista,r u talking bout vlc media player,tell me bit briefly..thanks

@johnpowell,I want to play these movies in my USB supprted DVD player,not in my laptop

@Althaf You’d have to confirm that your DVD player’s USB port can support all of the types of files. You might have some software that can burn DVDs which you can use to put those files on DVD-Videos.

@buckyboy28, these movies works perfectly when i use my 2gb usb card (single movie)but when i connect my external hard disk,it shows ’ this card is emty’ let me know if u know more bout it
