Where to sell a new wedding dress on the internet?

Asked by Violet (6589points) January 31st, 2010

I have a new wedding dress with tags, and I am having the hardest time selling it. I tried Craigslist, but all of the replies I got were scams. I don’t think I want to use eBay, because the dress I am selling costs way more than the other dresses for sale.
There are a lot of sites to sell used/new wedding dresses, but there are fees that average $25 to post.
Does anyone know of a good site to sell a new wedding dress?

Are there any local shops that sell gowns? Sometimes the telephone book is a lot easier than the Internet.

your best bet is a consignment store. People don’t want to pay the big bucks for a wedding dress they can’t even try on.

I was going for consignment store but @Judi beat me to it. We have several around here, like Second Hand Rose, Good Buys, French Cuff.

If you don’t have any, your next best bet it to advertise in a brides magazine. For a very expensive dress, it seems like a $25 fee isn’t really that much.

Ebay, however I don’t know if they charge for that.

@Pandora yes, they charge a listing fee, and a final flaue fee (a % of the selling price). But problem with ebay, is the dresses selling on there cost about $100.
