How did metal gear solid 4 make you feel? * spoilers *?

Asked by bigboss (990points) February 1st, 2010

if you loved the story like i did…did it make you sad? are you happy that snake is done with??

with the graphics of the ps3, i would have liked another solid snake game.

I forget the storyline. I remember fighting the boss on top of the submarine (i think). The fight was sick/ I remember after finishing the fight I got halfway through the ending movie and the power went off. I didn’t want to go through that hard ass fight again.

I should replay from the begining

Is there a new MGS yet?

@FlutherMe yea the fight was awesome, and the scenes leading to the fight were the sad ones becuase you could hear all the memories. plus infiltrating shadow moses island again was sad too if your really into the story line.

-no not yet. the next one should be staring raiden called metal gear rising. i dont know when it comes out though.

I grew up on metal gear – following the almost 9 year saga to it’s conclusion (especially as elaborate as it was) was… I can’t really describe it. A plethora of mixed emotions, all of which I highly appreciated. I think MG4 was a game strictly for the fans. The story is just simply incredible, especially for a video game.

I’m happy that Snake is “done” with – I think it’s lived a long life and I fear that if it gets any longer, it will be ruined with new concept/ideas that dont blend well. There’s nothing I like more than a good story that knows when to end.

I’m sure there will be various metal gear related games coming out in the future that may or may not at least loosely follow the story.

@disc2021 i agree with that. like pokemon that was so damn amazing when it first started and its still going on and it sucks!! i think the his saga ended at perfect timing. i hope they remake part 1 on the ps3 even though they already have on the gamecube so i highly doubt hideo would….but who knows.

Nah, keep making the games but just retire snake. Start following Riden or something and begin a whole new sub-saga that still takes root in the snake days.

I bet snake’s ghost or clone or something will be back. Why did he randomly start getting old again? I forget

@bigboss Exactly. Pokemon (though this is like comparing apples to oranges) started out cool because there were so many of them – then it just got to the point where it was out of control. They kept making millions of pokemon and fans completely lost focus/interest in the very foundation that make it so cool.

@FlutherMe B/c he’s a biological clone. They explain it more adequately, but pretty much his cells age much faster as they’re generic.

If they start branch-off stories, I fear they’ll fall into the same trap pokemon did, where the heart of the fans dies along with Snake, and here is a completely different story only loosely related to Snake with a different foundation.

I really think Hideo is brilliant enough to create a completely different story that would have the same affect the Metal Gear series had on it’s fans. I dont see why they should keep milking the same idea when they’re capable of infinitely more ideas to pull in even more fans and even more people of the new generation.
