Is there a poetry forum where I can post poetry to get feedback or just to share?

Asked by lostinyoureyes (1121points) February 14th, 2010

My question says it all :) I wrote a Valentine’s Day poem that I’m too shy to share on Facebook or something.

Try http://www.everypoet.org/

It looks like a viable forum. I might try it, too.

I got a lot of good feedback from The Starlite Cafe

The people tend to give only positive feedback and it takes some prodding to get constructive criticism, but the community is very active (or was when I was there) and will respond to earnest requests for feedback.

Also, for any poetry site you go to, watch out for publishing scams. Basically, somebody gets you very excited about publishing your poetry and then asks for some kind of fee after telling you that your work is publishable. The catch is that they do actually publish it in a book along with a bunch of other people who paid and then they sell you the book. But to my knowledge it never gets any distribution.

Good luck!

www.writersintouch.com is a great site for sharing writing among peers. They do plenty of prose, but they do tons of poetry too.

I definitely highly suggest it.

I don’t know of any specific poetry related forums, but you can always try devientART.

A lot of it is drawings, graphics and photography, but plenty of people also use it for writing, and poetry.
