I might interpret this more simply – that you are thinking about this friend a great deal, and as a result you are dreaming about him. If you think about something a lot it tends to show up in a dream.

it is a matter of belief. I believe it is possible. The question is does your friend try to tell you something? If they are, listen, weather it is real or not you need to listen and watch.

I’m sure it’s possible to dream about your friend but unlikely that the dream is anything more than that – just a dream.

look. It’s a matter of belief. Plane and simple you have to decide weather or not they can. If you believe they can then they will and if you don’t then they won’t. I believe they can.
